Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
It can be easy to become discouraged sometimes. Especially, if we’ve been doing the right thing for a long time but we don’t see any results or even feel like anyone notices. In these situations we might feel like giving up but Paul is trying to remind us in this verse not to become discouraged because God rewards faithfulness. If we get tired it’s okay to take a break, rest, and recharge but let’s avoid feeling like we should give up. Don’t be weary in reading the Bible and seeking to live by what it teaches. Don’t be weary in praying for family, friends, and for growth. Don’t be weary in sharing our faith with others. Don’t be weary in serving the Lord with the gifts that God has given us. For in due season, we will reap if we don’t give up. God keeps careful records of what we do and nothing goes unnoticed. Many times it helps to remind ourselves of the good things that God has done for us. We can remember the times when He’s brought us out or has been faithful to us when we needed it. Sometimes the reward for doing the right thing doesn’t always show up when we think it should or when we expect it. As we have the opportunity, let’s do what is good and wait for the blessings in God’s timing. Don’t lose heart today as you go about following God’s ways. Remember that joy is guaranteed to us into eternity.
